This course points out the pitfalls of being human but gives countermeasures to prevent our weakness from creeping into our jobs. It takes a cultural shift, including those at the top, to make for a good Human Factors Program. PhD - Director, Human Factors Task Force (US Army)
The facilitator’s understanding of the Human Factors subject and how it relates to returning aircraft to service is simply unmatched in my career. Wittily and cleverly, they developed and presented the subject in such a manner as to draw in each student (GFR included) into the discussion all while exposing the students misunderstandings and shortcomings of the subject. Government Flight Representative
Thank you for your professionalism in training the government personnel. I truest believe you had an impact on them as well as your company personnel. QASP Program Manager
They don't just use a power point presentation to shove this down your throat. They take a group of individuals and put them through a vast amount of group activities created to get the mind thinking differently then we have it programmed. They keep your mind focused by throwing little riddles and situations to get you questioning our way of normal day thinking. It stimulates the mind to be involved in this type of classroom setting.. The Human Factors training is the best training class the company has provided in my 10 years of working here. The information I learned in this class will carry on into my personal life and career. This is definitely a course everyone in the company should take. Facilities Manager
As a clinical epidemiologist, medical research scientist, and cognitive psychologist, I was impressed by the human factors training course I attended while working at the United States Army Aerospace Research Laboratory. The training covered a significant number of fundamental psychological and behavioural constructs that I was familiar with. However, the instructors drew striking connections between human error, and both internal and external organizational culture, which I had not previously considered.
One striking development in both military and civilian aviation since the early 2000’s is the overwhelming endorsement of human factors training, and the implementation of programs such as this one, designed to both increase the effectiveness of crew coordination and management, while reducing preventable errors.
Being a highly trained professional in systematic analysis, I nevertheless failed to fully grasp the interconnectedness of the maintenance and support systems, mainly when humans and machinery interact. During this course, the instructors demonstrated how aircraft accidents were often traced directly to what would be seen after as apparent failures in maintenance.
In closing I believe that outcome factors associated with human error are not only mentally recognizable but also easily quantifiable. In flight operations, or in fact any process that is both dangerous as well as complicated, we must attempt to maintain the highest levels of efficiency and compliance with organization and regulatory requirements.
The human factors training introduced how experience and training can create
improvements in both attitude and accepted organizational norms in regards to appropriate management through group process, attention to environmental factors, and operations. Outcome factors form the very essence of which the interventions such as human factors training I measured. ~ PhD, MPH, MSHS, MPhil, MHA, ACHE - Medical Scientist with expertise in Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Computational Biology,
